== History == In July 1978, Jolly's Candy Board member, and grandson of Ethel "Jolly" Birdwhistle, Felix Loudtly came forward with an idea he called 'Jolly's Special', a subscription like service where subscribers could try experimental treats and candies before they hit shelf's. Initial backlash from other board members was severe, with worries of people becoming ill from candy and leaks being prevalent. A total of 17 meetings were held, before the idea was finally shot down by President of the Company, Zachary Loudtly, in March 1980. Felix, having his idea crushed by his older brother and hating working under him, left the company to pursue a career as a private advertising agent, while Zachery continued as president of Jolly's Candy. In 2003, Zachery died of heart failure, and his position was passed down to his niece, Jacqueline Fan. Jacqueline, looking for anyway to expand the company, rediscovered documents about Felix's original idea. After several workshop sessions with her 'assistant', Amy Willington, Jacqueline presented her revision of the idea, Jolly's Candy Extra. Her revised idea is very similar to the modern version which led to it getting more initial approval from the bored. In early 2006, Jolly's Candy Extra went public. However, shortly after the fact, Jolly's Candy was sued by Felix Loudtly for the theft of his idea. This shot the company into the spotlight and into popularity. The case was ruled in favor of Jolly's Candy.
