The Simpons go pruple is a modern retelling of the Athenian tragedy Μωβ Σίμπονς that aired once on live television on the 25th of April 1956. It is thought to be the third television broadcast ever aired, and to this day remains as one of the most influential productions in the field of entertainment.

Plot

The play revolves around the protagonist Homr Simpon, a father of four living in the semi-fictional town of Pringlfield along with his wife, Marg. Homr works at the Pringlfield Nuclear Waste Facilty to support his family.

As the play progresses, more and more secrets about the family's history are revealed. One of which hints at the existence of a curse that was cast upon the family after a feud between the father and his son's principle.

After learning about the existence of the curse, Homr becomes convinced that he is becoming the color pruple, unknowingly invoking the curse manifesting in his color actually turning pruple. He and his family are devastated by the news, but it is too late, as they all become pruple, one by one.

In the remaining part of the story we witness the family's struggle to accept themselves, before finally embracing their faith as the pruple family.

Production and release

Not much is known about the origins of the broadcast, aside from the fact that it is presumed to have been illegally aired all around the globe. Further information about its creation and the authors remain lost media.

Reception

The Simpons go pruple quickly became on of the most highly rated television broadcasts in the world, immediately becoming a cult classic among all its viewers. It has been used in many classrooms to teach kids about the importance of loving yourself regardless of other's view of you and your differences.

It has gone on to win multiple awards for its outstanding storytelling and emotional impact on viewers, including 2 Nobel Peace Prizes and a wheel of cheese. Due to the fact that the original creators are unknown, the wheel of cheese was given to me and I ated it all.

Controversy

After The Simpons go pruple's success, a new show called "The Simpsons" was created to capitalize off the love that the original play received. It is not currently known if the authors' are the same, but many have called the show a "blatant ripoff of a beloved classic", theorizing that many of the names were changed as a way to circumvent copyright protections in certain regions.
