History
[edit | edit source]Invention of pizza
[edit | edit source]Pizza Tent was founded in 1256 by a medieval peasant after witnessing a very odd sequence of events: a dropped loaf of bread in a local market was trampled into a flat circle by passing cows, one of which let out some milk from its udders onto the flattened bread, and a rotten tomato being thrown at a criminal in stocks missed its target and splattered over the bread instead. He did not eat this floor concoction, however, as he was not an idiot. He instead took clean food and used it to create a reproduction of what he saw and began selling it from his tent, where it immediately proved to be a popular food. When asked by one customer what he called this new food, due to the noise of all the other customers, he misheard the question as being where he got the idea, and responded that he saw it next to a piece of horse shit on the ground. The customer also misheard, believing it to be called a "Pieca", a name that stuck until the food reached America, where its name morphed into "Pizza".
